About Elke Hülse
Born in Blumenau, Brazil, she is a tapestry weaver, visual artist, researcher and professor. She is a graduate in Artistic Education with a Master’s in Visual Arts, in Theory and History of Art, both from the University of the State of Santa Catarina – UDESC, is a postgraduate in Art and Education from the University of Extremo Sul Catarinense - UNESC. She took courses in tapestry with the Ernesto Aroztegui method, and an online course with Mary Lane from the American Tapestry Alliance - ATA and immersions in artists' residencies, with Jean Pierre Larochette, Sarah Swett and Yael Lurie in El Tuito, Mexico. She participated in group exhibitions in China, Scotland, USA, France, Italy, Hungary, Spain, Argentina, Australia, Serbia, Ukraine, Mexico and Brazil. She held solo exhibitions in Brazil, in the cities of Blumenau, Itajaí, Joinville, Florianópolis, Balneário Camboriú, and Criciúma. She lives and works in Criciúma, Brazil.
