About portraits weaving
Portraits and self-portraits are recurrent artistic manifestations in different periods of art history. I started designing my cartoons, creating compositions with faces in 2010. When I receive a photo I digitally manipulate the image, choose the colors of the materials and only with the client's approval do I start at the loom. This process is challenging because the clients choose their best image to be reproduced on the tapestry. Given the peculiarities of the creative process involved in making the tapestry, I like to deliver it personally to directly observe the client's reaction about the result.

About other Commissioned Works
Receiving an order from a customer is always a vote of confidence. It is a motivator and an exchange of experiences that materialize my creative process. In this sense, it is important to be in tune with the customers, talking to them, knowing their reasons, desires, and expectations. After the approval of the cartoon, the materials, and the respective colors, I start the tapestry. When I receive a cartoon from another artist, however, I, as a tapestry weaver, have the autonomy to adapt this cartoon and thus enhance the result in view of the peculiarities of the tapestry due to its structure composed of warp and weft. They are collaborative and unique works. With each finished tapestry the weaver is imprinted in the work, it is a dialogue between matter and creation, and only those who create can understand.
